Haven't seen much promotion for this game around MLG outside of the initial announcement. Got any plans to do this (understandable if you guys are waiting until more details are released) or is it just being left up to community driven sites like TestYourMight?

I'm sure the MK9 community would like to see this game succeed with any help possible, and part of that is drawing in a crowd of people unfamiliar with the game who are interested enough to at least check it out. It would be cool to see MK9 be a consistent game around here rather than just another "major tournament stop" so to speak.

When the details have been released, you'll see it much more on this site. However, as of now, the only announcement has been that MK will be at the winter championships, but no further details have been announced yet.

As for Community sites like TestYourMight, I will be on that site answering questions, promoting the event, etc when we have more details.

The players at Mortal Kombat United all seem pretty stoked about this. I personally will be attending the one in Columbus for sure as it's in my home state. There are many looking to make the trip but the details should probably be revealed soon so that travel plans can be arranged. I believe the standard tournament rules (double elimination) should apply. I only mention this as it was not the format provided at Raleigh last year and it did cause some rift within the community. Good luck to MLG and MK. I hope this will be a long marriage.

Yeah if there was mortal kombat played last year, it was an afterthought and didn't have a proper format. I know some fighting games (smash in particular) bash on MLG because they do straight bracket instead of pools and don't allow a lot of free play, have laggy TVs, ect.

I was wondering about controllers. I use a ps3 controller but i took the battery out of it, so it only works when its plugged in. Is that ok or do I need to get a new wired controller that doesnt marry the ps3?
